LA Galaxy fell 3–2 to Deportivo Toluca F.C. at Dignity Health Sports Park on October 1, 2025, in the 2025 Campeones Cup, as Toluca scored twice in the closing minutes to secure the title. Diego Fagúndez opened the scoring for Los Angeles in the 36th minute from the penalty spot after Gabriel Pec was fouled inside the area, giving the home side a first-half advantage. Toluca equalized early in the second half when Nicolás Castro struck from outside the box in the 54th minute, before Pec restored LA Galaxy’s lead in the 85th minute after finishing a loose ball inside the penalty area.
The visitors responded immediately as Franco Romero leveled the match in the 88th minute following a deflected free kick, shifting momentum late in the contest. In stoppage time, Federico Pereira converted from close range in the 93rd minute to complete Toluca’s comeback and deliver the club’s first Campeones Cup title. Toluca controlled much of the second half, finishing with the stronger attacking pressure and capitalizing on late opportunities to overturn the result in front of 16,104 spectators.
